Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai Thursday awarded incentives worth Rs 26 lakh to the meritorious children of registered construction workers under “Noni-Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayta Yojana”.

The cheques were handed over to the eligible students at a program held at the Chief Minister’s residence office prior to the ‘Jandarshan’ program. Labour Minister Lakhan Lal Devangan was also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister distributed cheques of Rs 2 lakh each to 13 meritorious children of registered construction workers who secured top 10 ranks in the 10th and 12th board examinations. At the onset, Sai paid tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his death anniversary by offering flowers at his portrait.

The amount of Rs 2 lakh awarded to each student included Rs 1 lakh as an incentive and Rs 1 lakh as a grant for purchasing a two-wheeler for commuting to school and college.

It is noteworthy that the scheme “Noni-Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayta Yojana” benefits children of registered construction workers who are studying in 10th and 12th grades during 2023-24 academic session and have secured a place in the top 10 list in the examinations conducted by the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education for the year 2023-24.
