Mines Secretary reviews functioning of Hindustan Copper Ltd in Kolkata

Secretary, Ministry of Mines, V L Kantha Rao, visited the Corporate Office of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) in Kolkata yesterday to review the activities of the Company.

Rao was accorded a warm reception by Ghanshyam Sharma, CMD, HCL, along with Sanjay Panjiyar, D(Op), Sanjiv Kumar Singh, D(M), Upendra Kumar Pandey, CVO, and other senior officials, on his maiden visit to Tamra Bhavan, HCL Corporate Office.

In a detailed presentation, the Secretary was apprised of the overall activities of the Company along with its ongoing projects. During the meeting, V L Kantha Rao, interacted at length with the senior executives of HCL. Lauding the unique position of the Company as the only copper miner in India, Rao  urged to focus on enhancing the production of copper ore and Metal-in-Concentrate.

He further stated that the Ministry of Mines will extend all possible support, cooperation and help in the administrative and policy matters. The Mines Secretary encouraged the HCL personnel to put their best foot forward in order to build a glorious future for the Company.
