Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed the courtesy and engaged Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in distributing the health card.

Modi was in the state capital on Friday to inaugurate and lay foundation stones of 10 projects worth around Rs 7,600 crore, a gift for the poll-bound Chhattisgarh. However, the political bitterness was set aside in the official programme in which Baghel along with Deputy Chief Minister T S Singh Deo and PWD Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu were present.

Of the 10 projects included distribution of 7.5 million Ayushman health cards to the beneficiaries. As a token, the Prime Minister gave away cards to five persons. When the first card was given to Modi for handing it over to the beneficiary, the Prime Minister held the hand of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel standing left to him.

Baghel along with Modi handed over the card to the beneficiary. The Prime Minister was also seen talking to Baghel on a lighter note. While leaving the stage, the Prime Minister gave a pat to Deputy Chief Minister T S Singh Deo.

Before starting his speech, the Prime Minister expressed grief and paid tribute to the three persons who were killed while coming to attend his programme from Ambikapur. Five others were injured when the bus carrying them rammed into a truck in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district on Friday morning.
