As the election campaign for the second phase of Bihar assembly elections involving 94 constituencies concluded on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made twin attacks on the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Bihar’s opposition sponsored chief ministerial candidate Tejaswhi Prasad Yadav.
He called them “double Yuvraj” of Bihar and Delhi and said they would reverse the gains of the last 15 years of double engine government in Bihar.
Speaking at four places- Chapra, Samastipur, Motihari and Bagaha in Northern Bihar, Modi said the “double Yuvraj” would be rejected by the people as the return of Nitish Kumar as chief minister was guaranteed. He recalled in Uttar Pradesh too, during the assembly elections in 2017, the “double Yuvraj” of Delhi and Lucknow (Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav) had jointly fought elections, but they failed.
He made twin attacks on Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi without naming them. PM said those who had doubted the authenticity of Pulwama attack by Pakistan in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed are now feeling ashamed as Pakistan itself confessed its involvement in the attack. They (opposition) tried to create confusion even on the martyrdom of our jawans, he alleged and asked people to reject them.
Modi remembered Aman Kumar, a jawan of Samstipur who was killed at Galwan valley and said sacrifices of the jawans should be recalled by the electorate of the state.
Prime Minister recalled contributions of Dr Rajendra Prasad, first President, Jayaprakash Narain, Bhojpuri folk artiste, Bhikari Thakur at Chapra, Karpoori Thakur at Samastipur. He congratulated Ram Kalawan whose ancestors were from Gopalganj near Chapra for being elected as President of Seychelles.
He warned the election of the RJD would be disastrous for the state. During the 15 years rule of RJD in Bihar, no one dared to come out of their houses after sunset, there was no electricity as people were forced to use Lanterns.
Modi invoked the blessing of Chhatti Maiya (Sun God) and assured the devotees there would be no shortage of materials to them as their “son” was the Prime Minister. The water of Ganga where devotees offer evening and morning prayers during the Chhath festival would be pure as treatment plants have become functional.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who joined the PM’s election meetings at two places, complimented the Prime Minister for Union government’s contributions in development of Bihar.
