Controversial BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga has landed in a fresh trouble as a court in Mohali on Saturday issued a warrant against him in connection with a case registered last month.
The development came a day after he was arrested by the Punjab Police and released within hours after a high drama involving the police of three states. The fresh arrest warrant was issued by the court of Judicial Magistrate Ravtesh Inderjit Singh.
“Whereas Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, s/o Pritpal Singh, r/o B-1/170, Janak Puri New Delhi stands charged with the offence punishable U/Sec 153-A, 505, 505 (2), 506 IPC. You are hereby directed to arrest the said Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga and to produce him before me,” the judge said in the order.
The next hearing has been posted for May 23.
Earlier, the Punjab Police had booked Tajinder Bagga for making provocative statements, promoting enmity and criminal intimidation on a complaint filed by AAP leader Sunny Ahluwalia, a resident of Mohali. Tajinder Bagga made the remarks on March 30 while participating in a demonstration staged outside the residence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by BJP youth wing, the FIR registered on April 1 said.
The Punjab Police had arrested Bagga from his residence in Delhi’s Janakpuri on Friday. After a high drama that followed, Delhi police brought him back to the capital after Haryana police intercepted them claiming the Punjab police did not comply the required norms for an inter-state arrest.
