Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat visited actor Mithun Chakraborty at his Mumbai residence on Tuesday that had created political turbulence in the poll-bound West Bengal.
Mohan Bhagwat was at Mithun’s bungalow in Madh area of Mumbai early morning and had breakfast.
The meeting comes close on the heels of the upcoming Bengal assembly elections. Mithun Chakraborty, a Bengali actor, is a popular star with a massive fan following.
Following the meeting, Mithun Chakraborty said, “I have a spiritual connection with Mohan Bhagwat. I had met him in Lucknow and later I had requested him to come to my home when he is in Mumbai.”
The popular Bengali actor also denied rumours of him re-entering politics with BJP and said, “Do not speculate anything, nothing of that sort has happened yet.” He (Bhagwat) had great love and affection for him and his family, the actor added.
Mithun had earlier met the RSS chief at Nagpur Sangh headquarters in October 2019 and had invited him to his residence in Mumbai near the Aksa beach.
Mithun Chakraborty is a former Rajya Sabha member and was long associated with the ruling Trinamool Congress in Bengal before he resigned from the party in 2016 over health issues.
