The mortal remains of Shri Poonamchand Yadav, father of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, were consigned to flames on Wednesday.

Shri Poonamchand Yadav passed away on Tuesday after prolonged illness. He was 100.

“The demise of my most revered father, respected Shri Punamchand Yadav ji is an irreparable loss in my life. Father’s life full of struggle and moral values ​​and principles has always inspired us to move ahead on the path of dignity. The values ​​you have given us will always guide us,” the CM wrote on social media platform X

The last rites were performed on Wednesday on the banks of the Kshipra in Ujjain. His sons Narayan Yadav and Nandlal Yadav performed the rituals.

A sea of people thronged the residence of the Chief Minister to participate in the last journey of Shri Poonamchand Yadav. Besides Union Ministers, Yadav’s cabinet colleagues, public representatives, senior officials, social workers and people from all walks of life joined the last journey.  Karnataka Governor Thawarchand Gehlot and Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar were also present on the occasion.

Shri Poonamchand Yadav’s last journey started at his residence in Geeta Colony. It passed through Sakadia Sultan Temple, Khajoor Wali Masjid, Budhwariya, Nikas Chouraha, Teliwada, Kanthal, Satigate, Chhatri Chowk, Gopal Mandir, Dhaba Road, Badapul, Kartik FairGround and reached Bhookhi Mata where the last rites took place on the banks of the Kshipra.

The Uthavna will be held on Thursday, September 5 from 4 to 6 pm at Hotel Atharva, Ujjain near Jantar Mantar.
