Vice President of the Patna High Court Advocates’ Association and senior woman advocate Mrs. Chhaya Mishra has welcomed the State Government’s decision to provide a monthly stipend of Rs 5,000 for a period of three years to newly enrolled advocates.

Applauding the announcement made by Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Mrs. Mishra described it as a significant step towards ensuring financial stability for young lawyers. She recalled that she had been consistently raising this demand since 2014 and had submitted memoranda to successive Law Ministers in support of the cause.

Mrs. Mishra also noted that in October 2024, the Bar Council of India had recommended a monthly stipend of ₹20,000 for new advocates, further underlining the importance of such initiatives. Expressing appreciation for the government’s efforts to improve infrastructure for women lawyers, Mrs. Mishra hailed the decision to construct pink toilets across all courts in Bihar.
