Lucknow, January 19
Samajwadi Party patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daughter-in-law Aparna Yadav joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday.
The speculation of her joining the BJP was doing rounds in the political corridors for the past several days as Aparna has been publicly praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
She joined the party in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and State Chief Swatantra Dev Singh.
Aparna has contested the 2017 elections from Lucknow Cantt Assembly seat on a Samajwadi Party ticket; making a debut in politics. However, she was defeated by Rita Bahuguna Joshi. Aparna Yadav has been closer to Shivpal Yadav than Mulayam Singh.
Aparna was born on 1 January 1990. Her father Arvind Singh Bisht is a journalist while mother Ambi Bisht is an officer with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation. Aparna Bisht Yadav holds a Master’s degree in International Politics from Manchester University, UK. Prateek holds a Management degree from Leeds University. Mulayam Singh’s younger son Prateek Yadav and Aparna got married in 2011 after years of love affair.
Aparna Yadav considers Yogi Adityanath as her elder brother. Actually, both are residents of Uttarakhand and even before becoming the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Aparna has been praising Yogi. Before 2017, she had also come to visit the Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur.
Shortly after becoming the Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath along with Aparna and Prateek Yadav had gone to see Kanha Upvan in Lucknow, where they had a meaningful conversation on gau-sewa.
