NCL accelerates production plan, pumps 5 new dumpers

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), the Singrauli-based Miniratna Company Under Ministry of coal has commissioned 6 new Dumpers (Rear Dump Trucks) at Dudhichua Opencast Project on Tuesday.

Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of NCL Bhola Singh and Functional Directors of the company flag-off the dumpers of 100 Tonne capacity each in the ceremony held at Dudhichua workshop premises.


NCL had recently ordered the 55 dump trucks of 100 Tonne Capacity in Rs 204 crore out of which 28 will be deployed in Dudhichua to cater the mine expansion to 25MTPA.

The commissioned 6 Dumpers are first in fleet consignment and are equipped with the latest technology and safety features. The Dumpers are ergonomically designed for the comfort and safety of operators resulting in enhanced productivity.

NCL is a Coal Mining Giant whose operation depends on Heavy machines and hence the company has deployed more than 1250 HEMMs in its 10 Opencast Coal Mines.  NCL is investing about 3000 Crore on HEMMs for up-gradation to robust machine fleet in order to contribute to 1 BT coal production of Coal India by 2023-24  for making the nation  ‘Atmnirbhar’’ in the coal sector.

In the recent past, only NCL have deployed 92 Mega Dump Trucks of 190 Tonne Capacity, including 8 electric drive Dumpers which were first in the category, designed and developed under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
