NCL celebrates Miners’ Day 2025 with grandeur and great Enthusiasm

Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), the flagship subsidiary of Coal India celebrated Miners’ Day 2025 with with grandeur and great enthusiasm at NCL Stadium, Singrauli.

During the central function, NCL, CMD, B. Sairam was present as the Chief Guest and Director (HR) Manish Kumar, Director (Finance) Rajneesh Narain, Director (Technical/Operations) Jitendra Malik, and Director (Technical/Project & Planning) Sunil Prasad Singh, Company JCC members including Ajay Kumar (CMS), Shyamdhar Dubey (BMS), and Ashok Pandey (HMS), Sarvesh Singh (CMOAI) General Secretary were present as special guests.

On this occasion, CMD, NCL B. Sairam in his address extended warm wishes to all NCL team and stakeholders on the occasion of Miners’ Day. He emphasized the role of energy as the backbone of economic growth and applauded the unified efforts of Team NCL in driving the company’s achievements. Apart from this, he called on everyone to embrace the spirit of respect for Work and the Worker in their life and contribute towards building a developed India.

Additionally, Sairam highlighted NCL’s commitment for quality coal supply to its customers, capital expenditure, and green mode of coal dispatch through FMC projects. Also, he mentioned key CSR initiatives like Charak, Nanha Sa Dil-NCL to promote quality healthcare and the educational institutions funded by NCL for quality education in the region.

The event also marked the presence of President, Kriti Mahila Mandal, Smt. B.K. Durga, and Vice President- Smt. Namrata Kumar, and Smt. Shobha Malik.

During the central function, General Managers from all Projects and Units of NCL, HoDs from HQ, Union Representatives, officers, workers, and local people remained present.

On this occasion, NCL’s Functional Directors conveyed their greetings and praised the organization’s employee-centric culture. They reiterated their collective commitment to addressing employee concerns with positivity and a forward-looking approach.

Director (HR), Manish Kumar in his address, stressed the importance of leveraging transformative technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to improve work efficiency.. He reiterated the company’s dedication to providing high-standard welfare facilities.
While addressing the gathering, Director (Finance), Rajneesh Narain commended NCL’s culture of inclusiveness and consistent efforts toward resolving worker-related issues.

Reflecting on the legacy of International Labour Day, Director (Technical/Operations), Jitendra Malik, applauded the unity and resilience of the NCL workforce, crediting them for the company’s impressive performance during FY 2024–25.

Director (Technical/Project & Planning), Sunil Prasad Singh commended the “never-give-up” spirit of Team NCL and outlined the company’s strategic vision for future mine expansion.

The Union leaders also extended their greetings on Miners’ Day and put forward their valuable suggestions to enhance employee welfare. Several exemplary projects and employees were honored during the celebration.

Organized by the Welfare Department, NCL the event started with the welcome address of GM (Personnel), Pramod Kumar Sinha and concluded with the vote of thanks by Dy. GM (Personnel) Rajesh Choudhary.

The Miners’ Day 2025 celebrations concluded with a vibrant cultural program. Acclaimed singer Mohammad Danish, famed for his appearances on Indian Idol and The Voice India, captivated the audience with a soul-stirring performance, joined by his musical team. Students from DAV Kakri and DAV Khadia also won hearts with their cultural performances.
