NCL-MCL CMD felicitated for coal feat

The Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) of two flagship Coal India Limited (CIL) subsidiaries Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), P K Sinha was felicitated on Friday for the outstanding performance of both the coal companies under his dynamic leadership.

Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi and Minister of State for Rail, Coal and Mines Raosaheb Patil Danve took presented a citation to Sinha besides bestowing the Letter of Appreciation to the Functional Directors who were leading the companies from the front.

The energy demand of the country is soaring which is resulting in rising demand for dry fuel. The two flagship Subsidiaries of Coal India Limited, Madhya Pradesh-based NCL and Orissa-based MCL have raised their bar in the need of hour. The Ministry has acknowledged the same with accolades.

On Thursday, in a ground breaking performance, both the coal companies jointly scripted history and made a record by dispatching a whooping one million tonne of coal in a single day. The performance is vital as it accounts for about 50 per cent of the total coal offtake of the parent company of NCL and MCL i.e. Coal India Limited (CIL).

The outstanding performance of both the companies is also contributing to build the ample stocks at Thermal Power Plants (TPPs) and leading to ameliorate the coal stock situation at Thermal Power Plans.

The CMD, NCL and MCL besides the Functional Directors of the companies have dedicated the achievement to the tireless effort of the ground employees working day and night for the energy aspiration of the country.

The NCL and MCL jointly have produced 147.01 MT till date in the current fiscal and have dispatched 163.5 MT of coal to consumers of the nation.
