New units of SAIL, Rourkela registers best performance from April to November in FY 25

The New Units of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) registered their all-time best performance in the first 8 months of the current fiscal i.e. April-November, 2024-25.

A statement issued by the RSP said the Blast Furnace-5 (BF-5) ‘Durga’, one of the largest operating Blast Furnaces of the country, produced 20,33,068 tons hot metal in April-November period to clock its best ever performance surpassing its earlier best figure of 19,01,712 achieved in the corresponding period last year (CPLY).

The Blast Furnace-1 also recorded its highest ever output of 6,50,100 tons of hot metal in the same period. The State-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill-2 rolled 16,68,552 tons of HR Coils to clock its best ever April-November performance while the New Plate Mill also produced 6,23,214 tons of plates to clock its best figure in the above period. By despatching 1409459 tons HR Coils, the unit also registered its best despatch for the mentioned period.

Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge (DIC) while emphasizing upon the importance adaptability, resilience and team work, has encouraged the team to surpass set targets in the remaining months of the fiscal year. He further exhorted the team to ensure uninterrupted production processes with zero breakdowns.
