The 50 years old Nishant Kumar joined the JDU as an active member with promise to ” carry the legacy of Papa”( Nitish Kumar).
At a grand gala ceremony at party office on JDU headquarters here on Sunday, Nishant was admitted in the organisation by working President Sanjay Kumar Jha.
He was welcomed by the friends and colleagues of the chief minister. Even personal security officer , Harendra Singh, personal friends,Lallan Shraff and Sanjay Gandhi were with Nishant.
The new entrant in the party who is all set to become the deputy CM,touched feet of elders in the party.His college and school days friends were also present.
Earlier,he reached the party office in a procession which included,elephants, horses and camels.
Nishant in a brief speech said since his father decided to go to Rajya Sabha he was joining the party and assured” I will carry the legacy of Papa”.
Nitish who was present in the capital did not attend the ceremony.
