Nitish calls on Dalai Lama, “suspicious” Chinese woman deported

Patna, December 30

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday called on the Dalai Lama, spiritual leader of Buddhists, at Bodh Gaya and wished him good wishes.

Nitish met the Dalai Lama at Kal Chakra Maidan, where head of the Tibet Government in Exile is addressing followers from 30 countries. The Chief Minister invited him to attend the inauguration ceremony of a Budha Memorial Museum at Vaishali.

He offered prayers at the Mahabodhi temple and met some of the visiting pilgrims.

Dalai Lama issued an appeal to launch a strong movement all over the world against weapons of mass destructions and recalled he had visited Hiroshima and saw the evidences of damages caused by nuclear explosions during the World War.

Earlier, Bihar police detained the 50-year-old old Chinese woman Song Xiaolan who was picked up from a guest house on Maharani Road at Bodh Gaya.

M R Nayak, zonal IG of police said the Foreign regional registration office has cancelled Visa of the women and her visa has been cancelled. Bihar police team escorted the woman to New Delhi for being deported to China.

Police during interrogation she had come to India in October,2019 and had gone to Nepal in 2020 alongwith a Nepalese woman. She is a ardent follower of Budhism.She had been living inn different parts of India since 2020 and reached Bodh Gaya on December 22, the day Dalai Lama reached there for his month long stay.

Government in Exile in a statement from Dharmshala alleged China is actively working to harm the Dalai Lama, including through the use of woman.
