Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Friday came to the rescue of the Director General of Police, S K Singhal who is facing attacks from the opposition BJP on acting on the instructions of a fake chief justice asking him to favour the tainted IPS officer, Aditya Kumar,
Reacting to the statement of former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, Nitish Kumar said, “Singhal is doing well. He has realized his mistake and has ordered a probe. Leave the poor chap (Chhodiye na Bechare ko), It is October, he will retire in next two months.”
Nitish, who was the Chief Guest at a government programme to honour the former Chief Minister of Bihar, Krishna Sinha on his birth anniversary, said this kind of lapse can be done by any one. DGP realised the mischief done by the friend of the controversial of IPS office. There was no lapse by the DGP, when he got calls from a bogus Chief Justice. “You should ignore this issue. Singhal is active in controlling crimes and law and order. Case is being investigated by economic offences wing of state police.”
Government has suspended the controversial IPS officer, Aditya Kumar, who was assistant IG in DGP office. His friend Abhiesk Agarwal has been arrested and an arrest warrant issued against Aditya also.
Sushil Kumar Modi has alleged direct involvement of the DGP in the case and alleged he had given protection to the controversial officer who was removed from Gaya as SP following his alleged involvement with the sand mafia and liquor mafia.
