In a fast-unfolding development in Bihar politics, Congress on Monday night announced to support Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who is heading NDA government with BJP in the state.
Congress legislature party leader Ajit Kumar Sharma said Congress legislators unanimously decided to accept Nitish Kumar as grand alliance leader once he declares severing ties with the BJP. The decision was taken at the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting held here tonight.
Earlier, Nitish Kumar has talked to Congress President Sonia Gandhi. The RJD had also announced to support Kumar once he left the BJP coalition.
Ruling JDU on Monday alleged the Union Minister and BJP in charge of Bihar, Bhupinder Yadav was engaged in sabotaging the JDU legislature party and engineering split in the party through the former union minister, RCP Singh. Two days ago, RCP Singh had resigned from the primary membership of the JDU and levelled serious allegation against Kumar a day after.
The tapes of telephonic talks reached Nitish Kumar a few weeks back, party claimed.
