Nitish Kumar’s last move, worth Rs 4733 crore

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday launched 200 new schemes worth Rs 4733 crore and admitted this might be the last inauguration before the Election Commission announced the schedule for the Bihar assembly polls.

Nitish laid the foundation stone of the 31.9 kms long Patna Metro rail project through video conference. Patna Metro rail project will have its central depot at Beriya opposite ISBT on the outskirts of the city.

In the first phase, 6 kms long rail line would be laid between Beriya and Malahai Pakri in eastern Patna. It will have five stations. Second phase of Patna metro project will link Rajendranagar stadium with Beriya.

Of the 200 new roads projects, one of the roads would link Kishanganj to Dinajpur in West Bengal. Two new railway river bridges would be constructed on Kosi and Ganga for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation on Monday.

Modi also inaugurated a scheme of linking all the 45945 villages in Bihar with internet connectivity through optical fibres by March next year. The scheme would cost Rs 1000 crore.

Nitish Kumar has demanded extension of the Deljhi-Lucknow-Gazipur highway to Buxar in western Bihar.

In the tourist attraction center of Rajgir, 506 E-rickshaws were distributed free to the cart owners today. Nitish laid the foundation of a new medical college at Siwan and other projects of the health department valued at Rs 2814 crore.

In the last one month, an announcement for investment of over Rs one lakh crore has been made in the poll bound state.
