Nitish skeptical about own MLAs, blames BJP conspiring to destabilize him

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday came down heavily on his legislators and alleged some of the ruling party legislators were dealing clandestinely with BJP and accused a senior RJD leader with conspiring with the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah.

As the monsoon session of Bihar legislature began here today, Nitish Kumar convened a meeting of the legislators of ruling Mahagathbandhan at Central Hall in the legislature complex. He was visibly angry even with JDU MLA, Maheshwar Hajari, Deputy Speaker and told him, “You are also in touch with the BJP, aspiring to contest the Lok Sabha elections.”

And to the Congress legislature party leader, Ajeet Sharma he fumed, ” You are also working against us, conspiring against us with the help of BJP.”

His harsh comments were aimed at a senior RJD legislator, Sunil Kumar Singh, who considers himself as brother of Mrs Rabri Devi “You are meeting Amit Shah. You are a conspirator, do not speak much. You are getting photographed with Amit Shah”. Deputy Chief Minister, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, who was sitting next to Nitish intervened and pacified the Chief Minister.

Nitish Kumar alleged BJP was  trying to destabilise his government by  spending Rs 200  crore  on “purchase” of our legislators, quoted CPI(ML) MLA, Sandip Saurabh. Nitish cautioned the ruling party MLAs to be aware of the large conspiracy by the BJP.

Nitish also alleged media was being controlled by the BJP and news against his government were being planted by the BJP.

Later, RJD legislators met separately at the residence of the deputy CM.RJD president, Lalu Prasad, who addressed the legislators asked them to refrain from speaking against the government.

For the first time, ministers and legislators were directed not to carry their mobile sets in the meeting and told to deposit their hand sets to the security staff of deputy CM.
