Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who is engaged in mission unite opposition, will meet the Odisha Chief Minister, Navin Patnaik on Tuesday.
According to the Chief Minister office, Nitish will leave Patna at 10 am and his meeting with his Odisha counterpart has been scheduled at 12 noon.
Nitish, who had met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee and Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav last month to explore possibilities of an united opposition against the BJP for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is scheduled to visit Mumbai on May 11. He will meet the NCP president and former Chief Minister Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena leader and another former Chief Minister Udhav Thackrey on Thursday.
He had telephonic talks with the two leaders on Sunday. In February, Aditya Thackrey had come to Patna and met Nitish and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.
During his visit, the National President of JDU, Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Deputy CM would also accompany Nitish.
Last month, Nitish had met some opposition leaders in New Delhi and sought their assistance in forming an united opposition front against the BJP. He had met the Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Salman Khurshid, Left parties leaders D Raja and Sitaram Yechuri.
Deputy Chief Minister had visited Chennai to meet Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin. From Telangana, K C Rao, Chief Minister had visited Patna with a delegation of his BKD party and talked on opposition unity.
Sushil Kumar Modi, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister today claimed Navin Patnaik will not join any opposition front. He had been neutral in the party and kept himself away from any plan to unite parties against Narendra Modi.
