NMDC revises iron ore prices for May

Despite NMDC Management plea, trade unions resort to illegal strike

Hyderabad, May 1

National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has revised the prices of iron ore for the month of May, 2025.

The country’s largest iron ore miner said it had fixed the prices of lump ore at Rs 6,440 per tonne and that of iron ore fines at Rs 5,500 per tonne. These are freight on road/rail (FOR) prices and inclusive of royalty, DMF, and NMET, and exclusive of cess, forest permit fee, transit fee, GST, environmental cess and other taxes.

The revised prices would come into effect from May 1, 2025, the company said in a regulatory filing today.

In the last prices revision that came into effect from January 9, the state-run mining giant had fixed the prices of per tonne lump ore at Rs 6,000 and that of fines at Rs 5060 a tonne.
