The National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has raised the prices of lump ore by 8.5 per cent to Rs 5850 per tonne and prices of fines by 5 per cent to Rs 4560 per tonne.
In a filing to the BSE, NMDC said it fixed the price of lumps or high-grade iron ore at Rs 5850 per tonne, and that of iron ore fines or inferior grade ore at Rs 4560 a tonne. The revised prices are effective from April 3, 2021 and exclude royalty, District Mineral Fund (DMF), National Mineral Exploration Trust (DMET), cess, forest permit fee, and other taxes, the company said.
Last month, country’s largest iron ore producer and exporter under the ministry of steel had raised the prices of lump ore by 5 per cent to Rs 5350 per tonne and prices of fines by 2.4 per cent to Rs 4310 per tonne.
The company’s performance in the recently concluded fiscal has been outstanding. Despite COVID-19 induced complications, NMDC registered 8 per cent growth in production while its sales surged by 6 per cent.
The company produced 34.11 million tonne (MT) of iron ore in the financial year 2020-21 and sold 33.27 MT of steel making raw material during the period.
