National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has slashed iron ore prices by Rs 600 for a tonne of lump and by Rs 750 for the same quantity of fines.
In a regulatory filing, country’s largest iron ore company said it had fixed the prices of per tonne lump ore at Rs 5,500 and that of fines at Rs 4,410 a tonne. The prices exclude royalty, District Mineral Fund (DMF), National Mineral Exploration Trust (DMET), cess, forest permit fee, and other taxes.
The revised prices would come into effect from May 25, 2022, the company said.
In the last revision of prices that came into effect from April 30, NMDC rolled over April prices of iron ore to May 2022 and maintained prices of lump ore at Rs 6,100 per tonne and fines at Rs 5,160 per tonne.
The company has started the financial year 2022-23 (FY23) with a steady growth. The state-run miner reported production of 3.15 million tonnes (MT) and sale of 3.12 MT of iron ore in the first month of FY23. The company continues to register growth in its physical performance.
