NMDC slashes iron ore prices for January 2025

Mining major National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited has slashed the prices with effect from January 9, 2025.

NMDC announced the prices of iron ore with effect from Thursday has been fixed at Rs 6000 per tonne for lump and Rs 5060 per tonne for fine. The above FOR prices are inclusive of Royalty, DMF, NMET and exclusive of Cess, Forest Permit Fee, Transit fee, GST, Environmental Cess and Other Taxes, the company said in a regulatory filing today.

In the last revision that came into effect from October 23, 2024, the prices for lump ore were set at Rs 6,350 per tonne and that of fines at Rs 5,410 per tonne.

Country’s largest iron ore producer started the new calendar year with a positive note as it continued to record growth in its production with output enhancing by about 5 per cent in December 2024 compared to corresponding period of 2023.

The company produced 4.71 million tonne (MT) iron ore last month that is 5.13 per cent higher than 4.48 MT produced in the month of December 2023. In the month of November 2024, company has registered a growth of about 18 per cent in the production of iron ore compared to corresponding period of 2023.
