NMDC’s cumulative production till November up by 37%

The cumulative production of the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) till November of the current fiscal has surged by 37.06 per cent compared to corresponding period of last fiscal.

Country’s largest iron ore miner recorded an output of 24.37 million tonne (MT) till November of the financial year 2021-22 compared to 17.98 MT produced during the corresponding period of 2020-21. The cumulative sales surged by 33.26 per cent.

In the first eight months of the fiscal, NMDC sold 24.96 MT of steel making raw material compared to 18.73 MT off take recorded in the same period of the financial year 2020-21.

The company recorded a marginal increase in the output last month, producing 3.34 MT and selling 2.88 MT of iron ore.

NMDC is India’s single largest iron ore producer, presently producing about 35 MT of iron ore from 3 fully mechanized mines, two located in Chhattisgarh and one in Karnataka.

The state-owned miner is aiming to achieve 47 MT of iron ore production during the current financial year. In the financial year 2020-21, NMDC achieved iron ore production of 34.15 MT and sales of 33.25 MT.
