National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) Limited on Wednesday reported a 23.41 per cent year-on-year growth at overall iron ore sales at 23.99 million tonnes (MT) in October 2023.
During the corresponding period (April to October) last year, country largest iron ore producer had sold 19.44 MT of steel making raw material. The production also increased by 19.13 per cent at 23.48 MT during the period, NMDC Limited said in a regulatory filing today.
The month’s performance of the company also jumped over 11 per cent in October. As against 3.53 MT of iron ore produced in October 2022, NMDC reported an output of 3.92 MT last month. Similarly, the sales increased by 11.33 per cent to 3.44 MT. During the period last year, NMDC had sold 3.09 MT of iron ore.
The company had delivered stellar performance with a production of 3 million tonnes (MT) and sales of 3.11 MT of iron ore in the month of September 2023 registering highest ever since inception with a month-on-month increase of 10 per cent in production and an increase of 7 per cent in sales.
The national miner also recorded marvellous half-yearly (H1) performance by producing 19.56 MT and selling 20.53 MT up to September 2023. With a significant growth of 21 per cent in production and 25 per cent in sales figures over CPLY, NMDC set new records with its historic best-ever H1 production and sales since inception.
