National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), state-run country’s largest power producer, would sponsor the Road Safety Cricket World series T20 tournament that resumed from Friday here in the Chhattisgarh capital.
The Regional Executive Director of NTPC WR-II Sanjay Madan today met Chhattisgarh’s Additional Chief Secretary (Chief Minister Secretariat, Home and Environment) Subrat Sahoo and handed over a cheque of Rs 1 crore for successful hosting of BCCI approved cricket tournament that would see legendary cricketers of yesteryears from India, Bangladesh, South Africa, West Indies and England in action.
The second edition of the Road Safety World Series kicked off Friday, March 5 and promised to be an absolute knockout with cricketing legends including Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag, but also Brian Lara, Sanath Jayasuriya, and Jonty Rhodes, returning to the pitch. The newly built Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Naya Raipur would host all the T20 matches of the 2021 Road Safety World Series that would conclude on March 21.
“NTPC feels privileged to have the opportunity to associate with the noble initiative of imparting road safety awareness through the Road Safety World Cricket Series 2021,” Sanjay Madan said. Safety has always been an integral part of the core values of NTPC and in line with it NTPC has always given paramount importance on creating Safety Awareness including Road Safety.
Being a socially responsible corporate citizen, NTPC WR-II took the privilege in sponsoring the ongoing series to also mark the National Safety Day.
