NTPC commissions first part capacity of 23 MW Solapur solar power project

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited on Friday announced the commissioning of the first part capacity of 23 megawatt (MW) solar power project at Solapur in Maharashtra.

“Consequent upon successful commissioning, first part capacity of 10 MW out of 23 MW Solapur Solar PV Project at Maharashtra, is declared on Commercial Operation with effect from 00:00 hours of 30.12.2022,” the state-run power major said in a regulatory filing on Friday.

“With this, standalone installed and commercial capacity of NTPC has become 58269 MW, while group installed and commercial capacity of NTPC has become 70884 MW,” it added.

Country’s largest power producer has been commissioning renewable projects on a monthly basis with a cumulative addition of around 1,300 MW of renewable capacity in the current fiscal. On Thursday (29 December), NTPC commissioned the second part capacity of 50 MW out of 300 MW Nokhra solar power plant in Rajasthan, taking the total commissioned capacity of the project to 150 MW.
