NTPC commissions last part capacity of Ramagundam solar project

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited’s Ramagundam floating solar PV project in Ramagundam of Telangana state has gone on full stream with the successful commissioning of the last part.

“Consequent upon successful commissioning, last part capacity of 20 MW out of 100 MW Ramagundam Floating Solar PV Project at Ramagundam, Telangana is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs. of 01.07.2022,” NTPC Limited said in a regulatory filing today.

With this, standalone installed and commercial capacity of NTPC has become 54769.20 MW, while group installed and commercial capacity of NTPC has enhanced to 69134.20 MW.

In March, NTPC has commissioned additional 42.5 MW capacity part of Ramagundam floating solar project in Telangana. Earlier the company had commissioned 17.5 MW (Part-I) and 20 MW (Part-II) of the project.

Country’s largest power producer has been planning to set up India’s first green hydrogen-based project. NTPC-Simhadri plant in Vizag region will develop the project of standalone fuel cell based 50 kW microgrid pilot project with green hydrogen production using electrolyser.  

The fully commissioning of Ramagundam project will further strengthen NTPC’s footprint in green and clean fuel.
