NTPC declares commercial operation of first part of Gujarat Solar PV Project

Power major NTPC Limited’s green arm declared commercial operation of first part capacity of 37.5 MW out of 200 MW Gujarat Solar PV Project at Sadla in Gujarat.

“We wish to inform you that on the basis of certificate dated 26.12.2024 issued by Gujarat Energy Development Agency, first part capacity of 37.5 MW out of 200 MW Gujarat Solar PV Project in Sadla, Gujarat awarded under GUVNL/500 MW/Solar (Phase XI) tender, of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited) is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 21.12.2024,” NTPC Green Energy Limited said in a regulatory filing.

The electricity generated from the project will be supplied to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) under a power purchase agreement for 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date.  

After completion, the plant is expected to generate about 3.23 lakh MWh (megawatt hour) of solar energy annually, offsetting around 2.96 lakh tonnes of CO2 equivalent annually and provide power to around 2.7 lakh households annually.
