The Korba station of the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) had provided financial assistance to the Korba district administration to fight COVID-19.
One of the oldest stations of the country’s largest power producer, NTPC Korba handed over a cheque of Rs 20,96,760 to the District COVID-19 Relief Fund today. The contribution has been made from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) head of the station.
The company spokesperson said the initiative was to assist the district administration to augment the health care facilities and create the required infrastructure to combat COVID-19 in the district.
NTPC is the largest power utility of the country with installed capacity of 65810 MW, fulfilling India’s power needs. Korba unit at state Chhattisgarh is generating 2600 MW electricity and fulfilling the energy needs of western and central Indian states. Besides generation of electricity, NTPC Korba has contributed for community development under its CSR-CD activities from the last 40 years.
