Artificial limbs distributed to differently-abled persons from nearby villages at NTPC Lara under its community development initiative.
In a meaningful initiative aimed at promoting inclusion and improving the quality of life of differently-abled individuals, artificial limbs were distributed to physically challenged persons from nearby villages. The initiative focused on enhancing mobility, restoring confidence, and enabling beneficiaries to lead more independent and dignified lives.
The programme was graced by Neeraj Jalota, Executive Director (USSC) & RED (WR-II), along with Subhash Thakur (HOP), Rekha Thakur (President, Prerita Mahila Samiti), Keshab Chandra Singha Roy (GM–O&M), Ashok Mishra (GM-Operations & Fuel Management), Hemant Pawagi (GM–Projects) and Jakir Khan (AGM–HR). The event was attended by senior members of Prerita Mahila Samiti, employees and villagers reflecting strong support for the cause of inclusive community development.
Speaking on the occasion, Neeraj Jalota appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of inclusion and compassionate community engagement. He highlighted that such efforts play a significant role in empowering differently-abled individuals by enabling them to regain mobility and participate more actively in everyday life.
The distribution programme brought renewed hope to several beneficiaries, many of whom expressed heartfelt gratitude as the assistive devices will help them perform daily activities with greater ease and confidence.
Such initiatives underline the growing emphasis on social inclusion, dignity, and community welfare, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most and helping create a more inclusive and compassionate society.
