As part of the ongoing Swachhotsav – Swachhata Hi Sewa (SHS) 2025 campaign, NTPC Lara organised a Safai Mitra Samman Samaroh at Kelo Bhavan, Maitree Nagar township on Wednesday.
The programme was graced by Ravi Shankar, Chief General Manager (Project), NTPC Lara, as the Chief Guest, while Smt Anuradha Sharma, President, Prerita Mahila Samiti and Smt Archana Sankar, Vice President & Bal Bhavan In-charge attended as Guests of Honour.
Addressing the gathering, Ravi Shankar lauded the Safai Mitras as the “true foot soldiers” of the cleanliness mission, emphasising their indispensable role in maintaining hygiene and public health. Smt Anuradha Sharma, in her remarks, highlighted the contributions of sanitation workers in keeping the environment clean, tidy and liveable for the community.
On the occasion, all dignitaries felicitated 150 Safai Mitras by presenting them with sarees, t-shirts, and reflective jackets as a token of appreciation for their tireless service.
The event also featured a community cleanliness drive at the local weekly market under the Cleanliness Target Unit initiative, oath-taking by employees to reaffirm their commitment towards Swachhata, and a street play aimed at spreading awareness among the public on sanitation and hygiene.
The programme reflected NTPC Lara’s commitment to the Swachh Bharat Mission, reinforcing the importance of collective participation in building a cleaner and healthier society.
