In a significant step towards women empowerment and sustainable livelihood creation, NTPC Limited Lara, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, successfully inaugurated a Stitching Training Programme for 30 women of Armuda and Mahaloi villages today.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Rekha Thakur, President of Prerita Mahila Samiti, in the presence of other senior members of the Samiti, enthusiastic women participants, and villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Rekha Thakur emphasized the importance of skill development in transforming lives. She encouraged the women to actively participate and make the most of this opportunity to enhance their capabilities and build a path toward financial independence. Her motivating words resonated strongly with the participants, instilling confidence and aspiration among them.
The two-month training programme has been thoughtfully designed to provide comprehensive knowledge in stitching—from basic techniques to advanced tailoring skills. The initiative aims to equip women with practical expertise that can enable them to start their own ventures or generate income through self-employment.
This programme reflects NTPC Lara’s continued commitment to community development and inclusive growth. By focusing on skill enhancement and entrepreneurship, the initiative not only empowers women economically but also contributes to the social upliftment of the region.
The participating women expressed enthusiasm and gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting their eagerness to learn and become self-reliant. The training is expected to create a ripple effect, inspiring more women in nearby areas to pursue skill-based livelihood.
