NTPC Mining has reported outstanding performance in the first half of FY 2024-25, producing over 19 million metric tonnes (MMT) of coal, marking a 20% year-on-year (YoY) growth.
The company also dispatched 19.7 MMT of coal to NTPC’s power stations, representing a 16% increase compared to the previous financial year.
The stellar performance of NTPC Coal Mining underscores its role as a key player in India’s captive coal mining sector. Since its inception, NTPC Mining has produced more than 123 MMT of coal and dispatched over 121 MMT from its five operational captive coal mines: Pakri Barwadih, Kerandari, Chatti Bariatu (Jharkhand), Dulanga (Odisha), and Talaipalli (Chhattisgarh). These mines ensure a consistent and secure supply of fuel for NTPC’s thermal power stations, crucial for meeting the country’s growing energy demands.
