NTPC Mining Limited (NML), participated in the prestigious IInvenTiv 2026 R&D Fair at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. During the event, Naveen Jain, CEO, NML joined a high-level roundtable on “Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) to Scale-up Strategic Sectors,” alongside leading academicians, industry experts, and policymakers.
In his address, he highlighted the need to enhance coal utilization in downstream sectors such as gasification, etc, noting that while indigenous technologies exist at the research stage, their commercial deployment remains limited. He emphasized stronger industry-academia collaboration to scale up such technologies.
On the sidelines, NML signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with TEXMiN Foundation, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, to collaborate on research and innovation, R&D, technology development through TTRP, industry consultation, training and capacity building, startup support, and knowledge exchange.
This partnership aims to strengthen industry-academia collaboration, promote innovation, and support the development of scalable indigenous technologies, contributing to sustainable mining and India’s vision of technological self-reliance.
