NTPC Nava Raipur celebrated 78th Independence Day with Patriotic fervor on Thursday.
At a programme held at its office premises, Chief Guest and Regional Executive Director (WR-II, USSC & Ash NI) of the NTPC P K Mishra hoisted the National Flag.
Addressing the gathering, Mishra spoke on the significance of Independence Day and NTPC’s contribution in the development of the country. He also threw light on NTPC’s focus on renewable energy and the opportunities and challenges ahead.
He also appreciated Western Region-II stations for their outstanding achievements in plant performance, project execution, accomplishment in commercial area, new initiatives and receiving awards and recognitions. Mishra also spoke on achievements in the areas of USSC (Unified Shared Services Centre), Operation Services, Commercial, Station Engineering, Safety, Ash New Initiative, etc.
Asserting that the power stations in Western Region-II are making concerted effort for compliance
of Net Zero Townships by next fiscal, Mishra said to achieve the objective, the power stations are putting their best efforts on Water, Energy and Waste management besides plastic-free and scrap-free.
The highlight of the celebration was the patriotic theme based cultural program that was organized
in association with Arpita Mahila Samiti wherein employees and children participated in large numbers. Meritorious Awards were also distributed to 24 employees for their outstanding performance. Three employees were honoured with Health Champion Awards-2024.
Another special attraction of the celebration was the exhibition wherein 05 projects of NTPC Western
Region-II (Korba, Sipat, Lara, Khargone and Gadarwara) showcased their CSR promoted and environment-friendly products which mesmerized all.
The Chief Guest visited the stalls and appreciated the efforts besides suggesting to explore marketability of all the products. Later, Mishra inaugurated Friendly Football and Volleyball matches at the office premises and underlined the importance of work-life balance.
U H Gokhe, Executive Director-USSC; S K Ghosh, Executive Director-Operation Services; Office bearers and members of Arpita Mahila Samiti; Chief General Managers, General Managers, employees and their family members were present on the occasion.
