NTPC Nava Raipur conducted multiple events on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti as part of Swachh Bharat Diwas celebrations.
Befitting the completion of one decade of Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, NTPC Nava Raipur organized mass cleanliness ness drive at Rakhi Village, Sector 25 of Nava Raipur besides handing over of Dustbins. The major attraction of the occasion was Nukkad Natak by the members of Arpita Mahila Samiti from NTPC Nava Raipur.
Aimed at creating awareness, the Nukkad Natak based on Swachhata enthralled the audience. Later, NTPC employees and their family members besides villagers joined the mega cleanliness drive at Rakhi Village Mini Stadium and Market. All the participants besides brooming the area collected garbage and cut the bushes.
Speaking on the occasion, P K Mishra, Regional Executive Director (WR-II, USSC and Ash NI) urged to follow the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. “On this special day (Gandhi Jayanti) let’s honour the legacy of Mahatma Gandh and follow his principle of cleanliness,” Shri Mishra said. The Nukkad Natak and large-scale participation from NTPC and Rakhi village in the Mega cleanliness drive will motivate all to have a clean environment that is free from plastic and garbage, he added.
Smt Gayatri Sahu, Sarpanch, Rakhi, Naya Raipur and representatives of panchayat bodies besides villagers were participated in the event. Shri U H Gokhe, Executive Director (USSC CPG); Smt Ayesha Mishra, President, Arpita Mahila Samiti and others from NTPC also participated in the event.
Organised as part of Swachhata Hi Seva from September 17 to October 02, 2024, the celebration at NTPC marked with a series of activities to create awareness. This year’s theme, ‘Swabhav Swachhata, Sanskaar Swachhata,’ emphasises the importance of cleanliness and environmental well-being. Earlier at a function held at NTPC Nava Raipur Office, Mishra along with other senior officials garlanded Mahatma Gandhi on his 155th birth anniversary.
