NTPC Northern Region Headquarters celebrated the 77th Republic Day at Lucknow on 26 January 2026. Shri Diwakar Kaushik, Regional Executive Director (North), unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Shri S. N. Panigrahi, CGM (HR), senior officials, employees, and associates. He paid tribute to the martyrs and recalled the adoption of the Constitution of India.

Highlighting NTPC’s contribution, Shri Kaushik stated that NTPC accounts for nearly 25% of India’s power generation and is committed to achieving 149 GW capacity by 2032 through sustainable energy initiatives. He noted NTPC’s entry into the nuclear power sector, with the Hon’ble Prime Minister laying the foundation stone of the 2.8 GW Mahi Banswara Atomic Power Project (4×700 MW) on 25 September 2025. In the renewable sector, he also referred to the inauguration of the Nokh Solar Park at Phalodi, Rajasthan, where NTPC is developing 735 MW under the Northern Region.

Shri Kaushik emphasized that the Northern Region is NTPC’s largest, with generation across thermal, hydro, and solar power. As on 25 January 2026, the region achieved a generation of 92,709 MU, contributing 6.62% of All-India generation and 26.50% of NTPC Group generation. In Plant Load Factor performance, Rihand ranked 3rd (82.16%), Singrauli 6th (79.05%), and Vindhyachal 7th (78.66%) within the NTPC Group.

He reiterated NTPC’s commitment to a “Zero Harm” safety culture and environmental sustainability, with over 2.64 lakh saplings planted during 2025–26. Ash utilization remains a priority, with the Northern Region achieving 86.60% utilization up to December 2025; Unchahar and Tanda exceeded 100%.

Under CSR and welfare initiatives, Uttara Club, the welfare wing of NTPC-NRHQ, distributed winter blankets to contractual workers of housekeeping, horticulture, and electrical departments.

Food packets were also distributed to students of Government Primary School, Gulam Hussain Purwa, Lucknow. The initiatives were led by Smt. Seema Kaushik, President, and Smt. Namita Panigrahi, Vice President, Uttara Club in presence of committee members.

The celebrations concluded with the release of tricolour balloons, symbolising pride, unity, and national spirit.
