A two-day Behavioural Safety Training Programme was held on April 28–29, 2025, at NTPC Northern Region HQ, Lucknow, for Safety Officers and O&M Executives from projects.

N S Rao, Regional Executive Director (North), inaugurated the training. In his inaugural address, Rao underscored NTPC’s commitment to a “Zero Tolerance” policy towards accidents and near-miss incidents. He highlighted the importance of PEP talks, proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and strict adherence to behavioural safety protocols.

Rao stressed that safety executives must regularly engage with their teams and assess work areas for potential hazards to foster a strong safety culture, noting that these frontline workers play a critical role in preventing incidents. He encouraged all participants to make the most of the training.

GM (OS), Amreek Singh Bhogal highlighted the need for behavioural change to foster a more safety-conscious workforce. Samiran Sinha Ray, Regional Head of HR, stressed the importance of individual behavioural awareness in improving safety practices and explained the training’s goal of equipping them with practical knowledge for implementing effective safety measures at worksites.

The sessions were conducted by faculty Suprio Bhattacharya, focused on behaviour-based safety, including practical examples and strategies for addressing unsafe actions. Participants responded positively, citing the training’s relevance and depth.
