NTPC Nava Raipur celebrated the 77th Independence Day with patriotic passion and fervour at its headquarters at Nava Raipur in Chhattisgarh.
C Sivakumar, Regional Executive Director (WR-II, USSC & Ash NI), who was the chief guest at the function, hoisted the tri-colour. Addressing the gathering, Sivakumar spoke on the significance of Independence Day and NTPC’s contribution in the development of the country. He also threw light on NTPC’s focus on renewable energy and the opportunities and challenges ahead.
He also appreciated Western Region-II stations for their outstanding achievements in plant performance, project execution, accomplishment in commercial areas, new initiatives and receiving awards and recognitions.
Sivakumar spoke on achievements in the areas of USSC (Unified Shared Services Centre), Operation Services, Commercial, Station Engineering, Safety, Ash New Initiative, etc. He also spoke on the CSR activities in Western Region-II and contribution of Arpita Mahila Samiti in discharge of the social obligation.
On this occasion, under NTPC-CSR in association with Arpita Mahila Samiti, two water cooler-cum-purifiers were distributed to Government Higher Secondary School for Vision and Hearing Impaired, Mathpurena in Raipur.
The highlight of the programme was the cultural programmes organized by Arpita Mahila Samiti wherein children participated in large numbers. The occasion also marked distribution of Meritorious Awards to 26 employees for their outstanding performance. The Chief Guest also inaugurated the Knowledge Sharing Platform through Quality Bytes.
Later, as part of the Meri Maati Mera Desh programme, all employees joined the Vasudha Vandan – Mass Tree Plantation programme near the office premises. The programme was attended by Smt C Padmaja, President, Arpita Mahila Samiti; Arindam Sinha, ED-OS; Smt Rupali Sinha, Vice President, Arpita Mahila Samiti; Chief General Managers, General Managers, employees and their family members.
