NTPC WR-II pledge to fight pandemic in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh

The Western Region-II (WR-II) of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) had doled out resources in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh to fight the COVID-19 induced pandemic.

With the outbreak of the second wave of COVID-19 Pandemic, all the power stations and projects of WR-II had swung into action; actively collaborating with the respective district administration to lend its support in the fight against COVID-19.

Combating the contagious virus on the other front after the first lockdown in March 2020, the stations in the orbit of WR-II orbit had been generating power uninterruptedly with the personnel putting their best foot forward to ensure flow in the national grid that facilitated homes to remain lit up and the medical emergency services to run incessantly.

The NTPC Lara project had provided financial assistance to the Raigarh district administration for procuring ventilators, the equipment in big demand to combat COVID-19. Similarly, NTPC Siptal station had aided the authorities to procure PPE kits and Ventilators for setting up COVID Care Centre at Masturi while the Korba station had been providing CT scan machine for District COVID Hospital at Korba besides regularly carrying out sanitization in nearby villages.

The Regional Executive Director of NTPC WR-11, Sanjay Madan said, “These are hard times and we are all in this together. NTPC is deeply committed to the welfare of its community and in such times, we are doing what we can to help the fight against COVID-19.”

The WR II stations at MP Gadarwara and Khargone are also taking active role in the fight against COVID-19. Khargone will be providing assistance for Oxygen Central Line work for 20 beds in Govt Civil Hospital Sanawad. Apart from it Masks, PPE Kit, hand gloves, Head cover, Sanitizer, Thermometer are distributed by all stations of NTPC WR II.
