NTPC’s Fatehgarh solar PV project goes on full stream

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) limited commissioned the fifth and the last part capacity of 48.8 MW out of 296 MW Fatehgarh solar PV project at Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer.

“Consequent upon successful commissioning, fifth part capacity of 48.8 MW out of 296 MW Fatehgarh Solar PV Project at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs. of 05.08.2022,” NTPC said in a regulatory filing. Now, full capacity of 296 MW has been commissioned, it added.

With this, standalone installed and commercial capacity of country’s largest power producer has become 54818 MW, while group installed and commercial capacity of NTPC has become 69183 MW.

The 296 MW Fatehgarh Solar PV project has been developed under the Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme Phase-II Tranche-I of Central government’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

The project was won by NTPC through Viability Gap Funding (VGF) based competitive bidding done by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) in 2019 and has been developed in through Adani Infra (India) Ltd. under EPC with land mode wherein land required was arranged by EPC vendor.
