The Chhattisgarh government on Sunday placed Mining Officer Praveen Chandrakar posted in Rajnandgaon district under suspension for irregularities in the sand mining.
The officer, who was suspended with immediate effect, has been charged for laxity in controlling illegal excavation and transportation of mineral sand. Chandrakar did not take appropriate action in related cases.
A state government order said during the suspension period, his headquarters will be Directorate of Geology and Mining, Raipur.
