Dr Mohan Yadav
It is our good fortune that the state and its people are benefiting from the “double engine” government. This unique combination has enabled the state to set many development records through innovation.
Currently, the “Jan Kalyan Parv” is being celebrated in the state. This is a celebration of prosperity and holds the promise of shaping many future opportunities. With the collaboration of the government, administration and the people, this river of development will continue to flow. The government will reach the people, and the welfare programs will directly benefit the public, with many new initiatives to follow.
I am pleased to inform you that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the vision of former Prime Minister the late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s “Nadi-Jodo Campaign” has been realised in Madhya Pradesh. On December 17, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project and on December 25, the Ken-Betwa Link Project. It is a matter of pride that Madhya Pradesh is pioneering in the country where two river-linking projects are being implemented. This will elevate the groundwater level, making water more accessible to our villages and regions along with providing sufficient water to farmers for irrigation. With the ongoing developments in agriculture, industry, tourism and spiritual tourism, the state is set to experience an industrial revolution, a green revolution and a tourism revolution, eradicating poverty completely.
Recently, the Regional Industry Conclave was organized with the aim of linking the rural regions of Madhya Pradesh to industrialization and modern products. In the future, industrial conclaves will also be held at the district level. Road-shows in Hyderabad, Coimbatore and Mumbai alongside inviting UK and German industrialists to invest in the state is part of an effort to expand the industry. This is the first innovation of its kind, aimed at connecting industries both regionally and globally.
Under Prime Minister Modi’s vision for a developed India, the focus is on GYAN (Knowledge) for the underprivileged, youth, farmers and women. We have designed a comprehensive development roadmap centered around these four pillars. The state government is implementing the “Garib Kalyan” (Welfare of the Poor), “Yuva Shakti” (Youth Empowerment), “Kisan Kalyan” (Farmer Welfare) and “Nari Shakti” (Women Empowerment) missions.
Our objective is to prioritize the well-being of the last person in the most neglected corner, ensuring that every individual has an opportunity to build a better future. The state government is taking care of every need of the underprivileged, including education, healthcare, employment and food security. Through the “Garib Kalyan Mission,” activities and programmes are aimed at improving the living standards of the underprivileged and contributing to the state’s development. Our sensitivity towards the poor is reflected in resolving long-standing issues such as the 30-year-old dispute over the Hukamchand Mill and addressing worker-related problems, ensuring their rights. Additionally, an air ambulance service has been launched for poor patients with serious illnesses.
The power to make the nation prosperous lies with the youth. It is essential that they be hardworking, thoughtful and connected to their traditions. Accordingly, efforts are being made to educate and train the youth. Madhya Pradesh is the first state to implement the National Education Policy under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi. Skilled youth are being developed in the state. All districts will benefit from the PM College of Excellence, offering excellent education that blends India’s ancient knowledge traditions with contemporary subjects, enabling the youth to connect with their rich heritage and build a better future. Sports complexes are being built in every development block to nurture sports talent from villages.
The “Yuva Shakti Mission” focuses on the overall development of youth, including their education, technical skills, and entrepreneurship. Nearly 250,000 youth will be recruited for government services, and many are already establishing their own businesses.
Madhya Pradesh is an agrarian state, and the “Kisan Kalyan Mission” will work towards increasing agricultural productivity. Over the next five years, the irrigated area will expand from 5 million hectares to 10 million hectares. Farmers will be provided loans at zero percent interest and the entire system for providing fertilizers, seeds and marketing of crops will be streamlined. Solar pumps will be installed in farmers’ fields so that they can generate their own electricity. We are focused on ensuring that every drop of water benefits the farmers. We want farmers to be free from worry and lead prosperous lives. The aim is to make every farmer a livestock keeper and every household a protector of cattle. Madhya Pradesh aspires not only to be a leading agricultural producer but also to become a milk-producing and milk-exporting state. To promote dairy farming, the government is providing subsidies for cattle breeding.
Women are the epicenter of family, society, nation and creation
In Indian philosophy, women are at the center of family, society, nation, and creation. The “Nari Shakti Mission” will focus on the economic, social, educational, and political empowerment of women. Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to increase the reservation for women in government services from 33% to 35%. Through schemes like the “Laadli Behna Yojana,” women will be supported economically, and the “Sanitation and Hygiene Scheme” will benefit millions of girls in the state.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi, a cultural renaissance has been underway in India for the past decade. The state has taken significant steps to preserve its rich and glorious heritage. The Shri Ram Van Gaman Path, dedicated to Lord Ram’s duty and the spirit of nation-building, will unite the entire country. Similarly, places associated with Lord Krishna are being developed as spiritual sites, where the teachings of the Gita and Krishna’s divine actions will inspire people to become righteous and duty-bound citizens.
The Madhya Pradesh government is a reflection of the public’s will and sentiment. Our society progresses while preserving its heritage. Therefore, the government, formed by the society has begun celebrating events in collaboration with the public. My aim has always been to make the lives of the people easier, simpler and more convenient. Online services such as Cyber Tehsil for name transfer, partition, and e-registration have been implemented. Boundary adjustments for police stations have been made to ensure prompt relief during emergencies. The development of a Medicity in Ujjain, the establishment of 51 medical colleges, the construction of the Indore-Manmad railway line, strengthening of national highways, and the creation of metropolitan cities will all contribute to qualitative development.
Prime Minister Shri Modi’s vision for a developed India is to establish the country as the world’s leading power by 2047, the centenary of India’s independence. Madhya Pradesh is committed to being a part of this development journey. We are working to double the state’s economy.
The state’s progress is in line with the commitments outlined in our election manifesto, and we are working swiftly to fulfill each promise. Over the next four years, we will ensure that every goal is achieved.
On the occasion of the Jan Kalyan Parv, I urge the 8.5 crore people of Madhya Pradesh to come together and work towards the goal of building a glorious and prosperous India. Let us walk together and advance together.
