The Opposition parties have planned to move a no-confidence motion against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government led by the BJP in parliament on Wednesday amid a logjam over Manipur.

NDTV quoted sources and said the motion had been drafted and would be filed tomorrow.  Earlier today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said he had written to the Opposition to resolve the logjam that had stalled legislative businesses, which includes a bill on control of Delhi’s bureaucrats.

Amit Shah also tweeted his letter to the Opposition. “The government is ready to discuss the issue of Manipur and seeks cooperation from all the parties, rising above party lines. I hope that all the parties will cooperate in resolving this important issue.”

Since the monsoon session of parliament started on Thursday, no business could be transacted in both the houses following Opposition protests. On Tuesday, both houses of parliament were adjourned with little headway made on the legislative front.

Trinamool MP Derek O’Brien, a member of Rajya Sabha, tweeted that the mic of Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge was switched off. “Every INDIA party walked out in protest,” his tweet read.

The Opposition has been demanding a statement from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on violence-hit Manipur before a discussion on the issue in the House.
