Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday claimed the opposition unity under INDIA banner has taken a major lead with the participating alliance partners coming to a conclusion on the constituency wise parties allotment in the next meeting at Mumbai.
Nitish Kumar said here in the last two meetings at Patna and Bangalore, many important decisions have been taken, including names of the alliance. Now, at the next meeting, major decision would be taken on constituency wise allocation of seats to the parties in the alliance. Also, policies and programme for campaign will be decided in Mumbai, he said.
Nitish was talking to media persons at Kargil Chowk here after attending the annual Vijay Diwas programme. Chief Minister said BJP had become panicky after the successful opposition unity meetings and for the first time, BJP convened a meeting of the NDA after nine years. Still, unknown or little known parties were invited by BJP.
Reacting to the charge of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on naming of INDIA and drawing parallel with the East India Company and Indian Mujahdeen, he said the statement reflected panic in the BJP.
Nitish regretted Prime Minister has ignored the sufferings of the Manipur people. Women have been tortured there, but PM is silent. Neither PM nor Union government have come to the rescue and relief of the affected families. “PM should speak on the Manipur developments in the Parliament”, Nitish demanded.
Nitish called on the RJD President, Lalu Prasad and is understood to have apprised him of the opposition unity plan developments.
