A Pakistan Air Force pilot has been captured by Indian security forces after ejecting from his fighter jet over Jaisalmer as Indian Defence Systems hit down three fighter jets.

The jets include one F-16 and two JF-17.

The pilot’s identity has not been disclosed. Sources confirmed that the pilot was taken into custody after ejecting from the aircraft.

Sources said the pilot was captured in Rajasthan’s Lathi area after his JF-17 fighter jet was shot down near the border. The wreckage of the aircraft was found near Jaisalmer, and a search operation is underway for any additional crew members or debris.

According to defence officials, the JF-17 had crossed into Indian airspace and was intercepted before being brought down by Indian air defence systems. The breakthrough comes amid heightened border tensions following multiple drone intrusions and missile launches by Pakistan in last two days after Indian defence forces struck against terrorist camps by launching Operation Sindoor after Pahalgam terror attack.

The downing of the JF-17 marks a significant escalation, with both sides now on high alert amid the ongoing border standoff.

Pakistan Thursday evening attempted to target several Indian military bases in northern and western regions, including Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, and Jalandhar, but its missiles and drones were intercepted by India’s integrated air defence grid.
