Pakistan is in a state of shock with the Taliban regime contrary to its claim that it was in its interest and that they had scored over India.
“Pakistan repeatedly asked to visit Kabul and we recently agreed,” Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Taliban said in a press conference today in Kabul while reacting to the much-publicised visit of ISI Chief Lt Gen. Faiz Hamid. They are worried about the release of prisoners, those who belong to Pakistan and want to carry out attacks in Pakistan, Mujahid revealed, underlining the fear prevailing in Pakistan.
“We assured them that no one will be allowed to threaten any country from Afghanistan,” he said. The Taliban wants good relations with the world, China is a big economic power and is very important for Afghanistan and Afghanistan needs its support for reconstruction and development, Mujahid added.
The Taliban spokesperson said, “People should know that the “invaders” will never reconstruct our country and it is the responsibility of our people to do it themselves.” Technical teams from Qatar, Turkey and a United Arab Emirates company are working to restart operations at Kabul airport.
The Taliban forces have completely taken control of Panjshir province, a statement of the Taliban said on Monday, paving way for the government formation. Mujahid said an Islamic and accountable government would be formed by the Taliban.
He said the Afghan forces who were trained in the past 20 years would be asked to rejoin the security departments alongside the Taliban forces.
