Pawan Kumar took over as Executive Director (Personnel and Administration) of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) on Thursday.
Soon after taking charge, Kumar interacted with the senior officers of personnel and administration department. A Post Graduate in Psychology from MD University, he did his BL/LLB from Hazaribagh University and MBA from FMS Delhi. Kumar has completed his Diploma in DSW (Labour and Social Welfare) from Calcutta University.
Born on July 4, 1969, Kumar started his career in SAIL on June 10, 1991 as Management Trainee in the Personnel Department of Bokaro Steel Limited. He served for a long time in the personnel department. He was promoted as Junior Manager on June 10, 1992, Assistant Manager on June 30, 1995, Deputy Manager on June 30, 1998 and Manager on June 30, 2001 even as he continued his services in Bokaro Steel Limited.
On January 8, 2004, Kumar was transferred to the Corporate Office as Manager (Personnel). He was assigned as Senior Manager (Personnel) on June 30, 2004. He was later promoted to the post of Assistant General Manager (Personnel) on June 30, 2008, Deputy General Manager (Personnel) on June 30, 2013 in the Corporate Office itself. On June 30, 2019, Kumar rejoined Bokaro Steel Limited on promotion. This time he was appointed as Chief General Manager (Personnel).
In February this year, Kumar was appointed as the Chief General Manager-in-Charge in the personnel and administration department of ISP. Five days ago, he was promoted as Executive Director (Personnel and Administration) of Bhilai Steel Plant. Kumar on Thursday took over his new assignment.
